The rear double hipped roof forms clad in galvanised corrugated iron, two storey wing with the parapeted gable end, timber framed double hung windows and the single storey gable wing with horizontal weatherboard wall cladding also contribute to the significance of the place.
The building at 100-102 Main Street is historically significant at a LOCAL level. It is associated with commercial developments in Stawell during the second half of the 19th century. In particular, this building has associations with William Anthony Snr., original owner who appears to have instigated construction soon after 1871.
