| C - LISTED - LOCAL SIGNIFICANCE The house at 1 Vivian Street is aesthetically significant at a LOCAL level. It demonstrates original design qualities of the Federation style. These qualities include the picturesque roof forms comprised of a dominant central hipped roof, projecting gables and return bullnosed verandah. Other intact qualities include the horizontal weatherboard wall cladding, unpainted galvanised corrugated iron roof cladding, unpainted brick and corbelled chimney, narrow eaves, timber framed double hung windows, window hood, turned timber verandah columns, timber verandah brackets and fretwork valance, and the decorative gable infill (roughcast panelling and timber battening). The timber picket fence also contributes to the significance of the place. The house at 1 Vivian Street is historically significant at a LOCAL level. It is associated with the development of Belmont as a rural farming community and with the Vivian Estate subdivision of the late nineteenth century.
